In 8 days I am going to be eating a completely vegan diet for 30 days. I have been doing tons of research and constantly looking at ingredients to work with. I’ve been very cautious and looking at all the labels and praying I don’t miss a thing. If you see me use a “non-vegan” ingredient…

seedsnsmiles:

Sugar free, oil free, vegan, wholewheat banana bread with walnuts, pecans, banana chips and a sesame seed sprinkle.
We had 4 very ripe bananas laying around - so naturally, a batch of banana bread was made! The recipe involves 2 cups of mashed banana and 2 cups of wholewheat flour with only dates to add more sweetness and flaxseed to bind everything together. I added some crushed walnuts and pecans and changed the flour to 1 cup WW and 1 cup AP as I was worried the bread might be too dense and it came out just right. Also, I added a drizzle of agave because I found the raw dough not sweet enough but sweetness levels are a very personal thing, so you might not agree. I’d give this recipe a 7/10 but considering how healthy it is I’m going to give it an 8/10!
The recipe can be found here! :)

Zain’s Swiss Summer Oats - Ten Signature Flavours
Want a fresh summer breakfast idea? Make your own summer oats! Use one of my ten signature recipes or get inspired to make your own…
Whilst living in Switzerland on an apple and pear orchard, I learned a recipe for ‘Bircher’ or ‘Swiss’ style breakfast oats. The altitude where I lived was quite high and the summer sun would beat down on us even as early as 6am, which made the thought of a hot breakfast unbearable.  It was then that I was introduced to this incredible, energy-boosting recipe made with raw oats! Nonetheless, I gave it a go and it tasted magnificent.
I have since transformed the recipe to create my very own clean version of Swiss Summer Oats and I am so excited to share my ten signature flavours with you.  Feel free to let me know which of these are your favourite!

Chop dark chocolate and add to the mix. Bake for only 10-12 min at 180-200 degrees Celsius. (Be careful not to overbake that cookie or it’s going to be too dry.)The nutrition facts for the cookie are: 457 kcal, 31 g of protein, 27.5 g of carbs, 7.5 g of sugar, 27.5 g of fat, 11.5 g of dietary fiber. If that’s too much for you, you can save 168 kcal, 7 g of sugar and 12 g of fat by omitting the chunks of dark chocolate.
Comparatively, a double chocolate chunk cookie at Starbucks is about the same amount of calories but with 37 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber.

oh man that looks delicious. when i make pizza at home i go to my local health food store in san diego called JIMBOS and i make sure i buy pizza crust that is gluten free and 100% whole wheat. Or if you can’t find that, than just use a 100% whole wheat pita for the pizza crust. because everybody lovesssss pizza! i just can’t stay away! i usually have pizza at least once every 2 weeks. i put tons of vegetables on it (peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc.), parmesan, spinach, and sometimes chicken breast, or turkey sandwich meat.

Honey Roasted Chicken Salad (Mayo Free)

this is such a great idea for a delicious lunch! except i would defiantly switch the crackers for two pieces of 90% dark chocolate as a treat!(:

(via mymotivationstoloseweight)

this was my breakfast this morning.
1. one piece of ezekiel sesame seed bread (100% whole wheat sprouted grains), and scrambled eggs (2 full eggs and 1 egg white) with cute onions, fresh corn, and cut turkey (all mixed in)!

2. steel cut oatmeal (100 % whole wheat), with flaxseed, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

This was such a delicious breakfast, i make it for myself at least twice a week, and honestly if i don’t have time i will just make one or the other, because making both the oatmeal and the eggs can be hard if you are pressed on time… but this meal was so delicious i just can’t get over it. the key to the flavors is to not dry out the eggs or the oatmeal when cooking it, and it also eat the food when it is hot! let me know if  you guys decide to try it out(:
